The College Cricket Club is one of the oldest sports at school with a number of Old Boys going on to play for New Zealand. Notable Old Boys include Tom Lowry (1st New Zealand test captain) and John Wright.
Coaching staff are a mixture of College staff, external professional coaches and parents.
All practice takes place at the Christ’s College Cricket Ground in South Hagley Park with the exception of a few teams who train in the artificial nets at College on Upper.
Year 9 teams play either full day or afternoon cricket, depending on their grade. Other teams play T20 matches starting at 9am, in the afternoon starting at 12.30pm, or the top senior sides begin at 10.30am.
House cricket is played in Term 1 for seniors and Term 4 for juniors.
College cricket teams play in a number of traditional inter-school fixtures in New Zealand and Australia and have regular tours to the United Kingdom. The most recent tour to the UK occurred in April 2018.
