Based in Christchurch, CCOBA President Tim Daley is an insurance law specialist, working as a special counsel at Fee Langstone. After gaining a Bachelor of Laws at the University of Canterbury, Tim was admitted to the bar in July 2015. He has worked in Melbourne for two of Australia’s largest insurance litigation firms, and in London as an Associate at Clyde & Co LLP.

After leaving College in 2008, Tim studied law at the University of Canterbury where he was awarded the Joseph Yates Prize in Trial Advocacy, and graduated with an LLB in 2014. He spent two years with a specialist litigation firm in Wellington, met his future wife Anneke, and then moved to Melbourne where he spent three years working at a top tier Australian firm. Tim then moved to London where he worked at Clyde and Co LLP, the world's pre-eminent insurance and reinsurance law firm, and one of the largest law firms in the world. Tim returned to Christchurch in October 2021, and now works at Anthony Harper – one of New Zealand’s leading national law firms. Born and raised in Christchurch, Tim enjoys squash, golf, walking the dog, and the odd glass of wine/craft beer with friends.

Chartered Accountant Hamish Matheson (10897) once had grand thoughts of working as a CFO for a hotel chain on a tropical island. In the real world, he’s celebrating three years living and working back in his hometown of Christchurch after nearly two decades in Blenheim. After leaving College, Hamish completed a Bachelor of Hotel Management at Lincoln University before heading overseas to work in a ski shop in Vail, Colorado with a group of other Old Boys, followed by two years in London. After returning to Christchurch, Hamish went back to Lincoln to get his accounting major and later became a Chartered Accountant, initially worked for BDO. Keen for a change, he and wife Sarah had often holidayed in the Marlborough Sounds so decided to settle in Blenheim where he joined a private accountancy firm. In 2014 he also became a Justice of the Peace. The Matheson family is no stranger to Christ’s College – eldest son Will is in Year 12, Gus in Year 10 and the third, Archie, is heading to Year 9 in 2026

Angus is a solicitor at Mortlock McCormack Law, working in commercial and entertainment law. After leaving Christ’s College in 2018, Angus studied law and music at the University of Canterbury. During his time at Christ’s College Angus was prefect for Arts and Culture. Outside of law Angus is a keen surfer, musician, and a high handicap golfer.

Jeremy is a dentist, working at Bradley Wood in Merivale for more than two decades. He has already been actively involved with helping to organise events, most particularly the annual Car Rally in Canterbury. An avid classic car enthusiast, Jeremy has eight cars, including an old Volvo P1800, an Austin-Healey and a Bentley S1. Jeremy is keen to breathe new life into the Tuis, the official alumni group for LGBTQIA+ Old Boys formed by now Board Chair Jeremy Johnson to acknowledge and affirm the place of gay, bisexual, and transgender Old Boys as part of the Christ's College community.

Jack Lindo (14848) is in his second year as a Solicitor at Tavendale and Partners where he is currently working in the commercial team. The youngest Old Boy on our CCOBA committee, Jack is keen to stay connected with College and felt joining the committee was a great way of doing so.

“I strongly encourage other YOBs to make the most of the events put on by the committee. These events can help us maintain friendships and connections beyond school in a time when it’s so easy to lose contact as people pursue their various careers both in New Zealand and overseas."

Tim, a College Old Boy, is Head of Marketing and Engagement at Enable Networks Limited. He has a broad strategic and commercial background founded on a Commerce degree from the University of Canterbury, and started his career in accounting, working in Australia and the United Kingdom.

While overseas, Tim moved into marketing. He has held senior marketing roles for many well-known organisations, both in the UK and New Zealand, including AMI, Meridian Energy, Airways NZ and Seequent. He was a long-standing board member of Netball Mainland, incorporating the Tactix ANZ Premiership team. Tim is a board member of Southern Zone Rugby League.

Lizzie Dyer couldn’t resist the opportunity to work at College when the new Alumni Manager role came up as she has always felt a strong affinity for – and has many connections with – the school through family, friends, and as a College parent.

“I’ve always loved College and its environment. I used to drive to St Margaret’s via Rolleston Avenue just to take a peek through the gates. I love the whole feel of the place.”

However, people before buildings – and, for Lizzie, life is all about people. She is warm and friendly, relaxed and convivial, and a great talker and accomplished hostess, who thrives on making and nurturing connections.

The daughter of a “larger than life” Irish father and Kiwi mother, Lizzie was born in Belfast. The family moved to New Zealand when Lizzie was a child and she grew up – the eldest of three daughters – in Tai Tapu, appreciating the easy balance between country life and proximity to the city. One of her first jobs was working in travel, through which she says she was lucky to be able to go back and get to know the Irish side of her family, and even more delighted when one of her cousins married her best friend – they met at Lizzie and husband Tim’s wedding – and moved to New Zealand.

Family and friends are the bedrock of Lizzie’s life. She quit the travel industry when she had children, but then started organic baby food business Green Monkey with her sister.

“I became very aware of what my children were, or weren’t, eating. And, like any parent, I wanted to do my absolute best. There wasn’t really any organic baby food around at the time, so we took the chance and entered a very competitive market. It was tough with three young children. Really good, but very busy.”
