About us

After leaving College, Andrew (Blue) Henderson studied Farm Management at Lincoln University. He was a farmer, production manager, dive instructor, commercial diver entrepreneur and rural contractor. Following a lengthy stint travelling overseas, Blue joined the New Zealand Police and qualified as a Detective in the Criminal Investigation Branch, where he has spent most of his career. Although based in Canterbury, he has worked around New Zealand.

Blue enjoys exploring new business opportunities and has a passion for all the quality produce New Zealand offers.

In his spare time, Blue heads to the outdoors, particularly for activities in, on and under the water, as well as alpine pursuits. Good food, wine and time with friends is very important to him. Blue and his wife, Kerry, have two boys who have both been through College.

Tim is a Senior Associate at Anthony Harper Lawyers in the Christchurch office, specialising in trusts/estates, insurance, and commercial litigation.

After leaving College in 2008, Tim studied law at the University of Canterbury where he was awarded the Joseph Yates Prize in Trial Advocacy, and graduated with an LLB in 2014. He spent two years with a specialist litigation firm in Wellington, met his future wife Anneke, and then moved to Melbourne where he spent three years working at a top tier Australian firm. Tim then moved to London where he worked at Clyde and Co LLP, the world's pre-eminent insurance and reinsurance law firm, and one of the largest law firms in the world. Tim returned to Christchurch in October 2021, and now works at Anthony Harper – one of New Zealand’s leading national law firms. Born and raised in Christchurch, Tim enjoys squash, golf, walking the dog, and the odd glass of wine/craft beer with friends.

Jared works as an accountant at BDO Christchurch in the Business Advisory Services line. He graduated in 2022, having studied a double degree in Law (Honours) and Commerce. He believes that the range of BDO clients has provided him with ample skills and knowledge to manage the CCOBA finance function.

During his time at Christ's College, Jared loved being involved in the school community. He received Honours Ties in Choir and Drama, coached fellow students swimming, and was a Prefect and Deputy Head of House of Condell’s. Jared enjoys being the Treasurer, as it is another opportunity to add value and help a community thrive.

While working towards his CA qualification, Jared volunteers with the Christ's College Chess Club, and also goes to the gym, swims, and studies Chinese.

Angus Mossman is a law clerk at Mortlock McCormack Law, working in entertainment and commercial law. After leaving Christ’s College in 2018, Angus studied law and music at the University of Canterbury. While at Christ’s College, Angus was the Prefect for Arts & Culture. Angus is also a keen surfer and musician and has played in several bands throughout his time at university. He currently plays in a Christchurch band, Lunar Intruder. Angus has finished his legal studies and is looking forward to being admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in June 2024.

Head Boy at College in 1998, Richard is a PwC-trained Chartered Accountant and senior finance professional with more than 15 years of experience across operating companies and the professional accounting sector. He has worked with companies and industries as varied as media and entertainment to science and research in the United Kingdom, Europe, the USA and Asia and the Pacific. He worked in the UK for seven years, returning to Christchurch with his family in 2015. Richard was Vice President of CCOBA in 2019. He has begun a two-year term as President.

Nigel started his career as an economist in the export meat industry, working in Christchurch and London. He later moved to Marlborough as General Manager of Riverlands Meat Limited and was instrumental in designing and establishing its plant in Blenheim and the wider group of Riverlands companies.

In 2000, he became CEO of Rapaura Vintners Limited, the first contract winemaker and bottler in New Zealand.

Now retired, Nigel lives on a small rural block outside Blenheim, fattening cattle and helping wife Jilly with their homestay business.

Nigel is Secretary of the Marlborough Branch of the CCOBA and also a Trustee of the Millennium Art Gallery, Marlborough’s public art gallery.

Of their blended family, their three sons are all Old Boys, as was Nigel’s late father, ETH Taylor.

Tim, a College Old Boy, is Head of Marketing and Engagement at Enable Networks Limited. He has a broad strategic and commercial background founded on a Commerce degree from the University of Canterbury, and started his career in accounting, working in Australia and the United Kingdom.

While overseas, Tim moved into marketing. He has held senior marketing roles for many well-known organisations, both in the UK and New Zealand, including AMI, Meridian Energy, Airways NZ and Seequent. He was a long-standing board member of Netball Mainland, incorporating the Tactix ANZ Premiership team. Tim is a board member of Southern Zone Rugby League.

With more than 30 years’ experience in the business and agricultural sectors, Mark is currently owner and director of Ngatapa Limited & Eagle Hill Farming Ltd.

An innovative and creative self-starter, he is a founding partner and previous CEO of Craigmore Sustainable, a food and fibre investment group, and has gained significant financial experience owning and developing businesses from the ground up. As founder and managing director of Coxco and Extreme Foods, he has created and established branded food products into mainly Asian markets and has been involved in e-commerce produce trade into Asia. Sustainable farming has always been a priority. He has also been involved in the establishment, with founding shareholders, of a start-up agri data company now operating successfully internationally. Not surprisingly, Mark’s broad expertise is sought by many boards and committees.

He was chair of the St Margaret’s College Foundation from 2016-2020 and is a GP board director of Craigmore Partnerships.

An Old Boy and School House Prefect, Mark has a long family association with College, starting in 1874 when his first family member was enrolled. Mark’s youngest son will start at Christ’s College in 2022.

Lizzie Dyer couldn’t resist the opportunity to work at College when the new Alumni Manager role came up as she has always felt a strong affinity for – and has many connections with – the school through family, friends, and as a College parent.

“I’ve always loved College and its environment. I used to drive to St Margaret’s via Rolleston Avenue just to take a peek through the gates. I love the whole feel of the place.”

However, people before buildings – and, for Lizzie, life is all about people. She is warm and friendly, relaxed and convivial, and a great talker and accomplished hostess, who thrives on making and nurturing connections.

The daughter of a “larger than life” Irish father and Kiwi mother, Lizzie was born in Belfast. The family moved to New Zealand when Lizzie was a child and she grew up – the eldest of three daughters – in Tai Tapu, appreciating the easy balance between country life and proximity to the city. One of her first jobs was working in travel, through which she says she was lucky to be able to go back and get to know the Irish side of her family, and even more delighted when one of her cousins married her best friend – they met at Lizzie and husband Tim’s wedding – and moved to New Zealand.

Family and friends are the bedrock of Lizzie’s life. She quit the travel industry when she had children, but then started organic baby food business Green Monkey with her sister.

“I became very aware of what my children were, or weren’t, eating. And, like any parent, I wanted to do my absolute best. There wasn’t really any organic baby food around at the time, so we took the chance and entered a very competitive market. It was tough with three young children. Really good, but very busy.”
