South African-born Lionel Randall stepped into the role of Housemaster of Flower’s House in Term 2, 2021. Since graduating from the University of Pretoria, he has taught Physical Education and Health in leading boys’ boarding schools in South Africa and New Zealand. He has also been highly involved in Water Polo at an elite level, serving as a FINA International Water Polo referee as well as a coach on both the South Africa and New Zealand National Water Polo programmes.
Lionel, is supported by his wife Taryn, who is a Science teacher, and their two sons, Oliver and Alistair who are currently enjoying Primary School and loving the adventure that comes with living in a boarding house.
“I’m excited by the opportunity to lead Flower's House and proud to be a part of the College community. I would like to create a home away from home environment where each boy feels valued, safe and supported by a caring community of staff and boys who are right there alongside him, helping him to succeed”
In Flower’s House, our boys are encouraged to have strong aspirations, to ‘dream big’ and to have the courage and determination to set out to be the best.
