Terms 1 and 4 (Summer)
College volleyball teams participate in the local Canterbury Secondary Schools competition on Monday nights at Pioneer Stadium or in school gymnasiums. In Term 1, the Canterbury and South Island senior volleyball championships are held, followed by the national championships, with the junior championships in Term 4.

In 2013, Christchurch's Nicky Pio was selected for the U19 New Zealand team.
In 2016, she attended Polk State College, Florida, on a volleyball scholarship.
Nicky has captained the New Zealand U21 team and is now in the national senior women's team.
She was named Best Setter in New Zealand at the club nationals 2016.
