Terms 1 and 4 (Summer)
Mountain biking at College has a number of different groups, with the main emphasis on developing the riding skills of the boys so they can participate in a range of events. Boys come to College with a range of skills and our aim, with the assistance of external coaches, is to assist them in improving these skills, riding to their ability, and enjoying the sport.
We have three main groups operating within mountain biking.
Downhill/Enduro – boys will be expected to compete in appropriate events where skill levels allow.
Cross Country – development for cross-country competitions.
Development – general riding skills for the boys – may compete at the level they are comfortable with.
All our rides involve some hill work and so developing a good level of fitness is expected as part of the riding programme.
Mountain biking takes place at several locations across Christchurch.
Participating boys must have a mountain bike and a passion for the sport.
