Terms 2 and 3 (Winter)

All hockey players train either at Rangi Ruru turf, Ngā Puna Wai, or Sporting Edge Indoor Centre. Transport is often provided to training areas.

College hockey teams participate in the local club competitions. Matches are played on Friday after school.

The House competition takes place in Terms 2 and 3.

Recent Success

2022

  • 1st XI – 3rd place in CPL competition, 13th place in NZSS Rankin Cup
  • Two College hockey players in the Canterbury U18A squad who were runners up at Nationals

2021

  • 1st XI – winner of the Canterbury Schools' Premier League (two years in a row)
  • Four College hockey players in the Canterbury U18A squad who were runners up at Nationals

2020

  • 1st XI – winner of the Canterbury Schools' Premier League
  • 1st XI – SISS tournament – 3rd place

2019

  • Five College hockey players (including captain) were members of the Canterbury U18 Association team to win nationals

2018

  • Members of last year's 1xt XI, Lewely Heale and Louis Beckert, have been chosen in the New Zealand U21 Hockey Squad
  • Nicholas Lidstone has been chosen by High Performance Sport New Zealand and New Zealand Hockey to be on the Pathway to Podium programme. Several College students have all represented Canterbury at U18 and U15 level at national tournaments
  • 1st XI – Christchurch Premier League – runner up
  • 1st XI – NZSS Rankin Cup – runner up

2017

  • 1st XI – Christchurch Premier League – 1st place
  • 1st XI – NZSS Rankin Cup – 1st place
