Director of Music Robert Aburn congratulated the Houses for adding some colourful touches while others spent time developing beautiful harmonies and backing.
“It was an outstanding night of wonderful student collaboration and music-making. All aspects were highly contested and showed overall sensitivity to the works performed. The standard this year in the small choral groups was exceptionally high,” Mr Aburn said.
He paid tribute to the Parents' Association and, in particular, the leadership of Megan Lamberg and Jane Elworthy.
“The parent helpers created an amazing atmosphere with the stage decorations and allowed the students to really feel they were there to perform.
“The two new trophies acknowledging the leadership and direction of the House Conductor through not only the performance but also the rehearsal phase was an important recognition from the CCPA for which I’m grateful,” Mr Aburn said.
The House Spirit Trophy is also new and recognises Houses that may not be awarded the Carey Shield but have worked within the spirit of House music and created a polished performance.
