An action-packed finish to the Maadi Cup – along with several regatta medals – has marked the end of a frantic week for Christ’s College rowers at Lake Karapiro.

After qualifying 7th in the final, the College U18 coxed eight has finished 4th, setting the early pace in the fastest boys’ U18 eights race ever recorded in New Zealand.

In a determined effort, the eight (Fergus Johnston, Charlie Poulter, James Hadden, Charlie Dalling, Max Harris, Tom Picton-Warlow, George Cochrane, Charles Beale, and cox Jamie Burdon) has come home in 5:49.80.

College rowers have won gold in the U15 coxed octuple schools (Max Airey, Che De Luca, Gus Moylan, George Wilson, Max Osmers, Oscar Malone, Ollie-Cooper King, Louis Fogarty, and cox Daniel Wilson), recording 6:19.96.

The U18 coxless pair – Fergus Johnston and Charlie Poulter – has claimed silver, racing to the line in 6:52.94, while the U16 coxed eight (Finnian Chan-Allan, Max Airey, Will Richards, Geordie Pavey, George Wilson, James Hadden, Mark Reidie, George Young, and cox Jonty Gray) has won bronze in 5:59.09.
