In the field, on the courts, and in the water – sports Colours
Three athletes, eight cricketers, three sailors, one surfer, one swimmer, three tennis players, one volleyball player, and one water polo player have been awarded ‘Colours’ for their “outstanding performances” in summer sport.
All have also been lauded for their “exemplary character and leadership”, both on and off the field or in and out of the water. The 21 young sportsmen have met “rigorous criteria, showcasing not only exceptional athletic performance but also their dedication to College’s values” and to being role models.
In athletics, Felix Bowden, Riley Diver, and Harrison Laing have all excelled while cricketers Gus Eglinton, Jackson Garry, Flynn Holdem, Finn McCormack-Young, Benji Nation, Hunter Shore, Kavya Shukla, and Austin Smith have all made their mark – and a huge contribution – on the field.
In sailing, Nico Blundell, Will Leech, and Sam Nicholl have left rivals in their wake while surfer Archie Whithear has ruled the waves on his longboard. In swimming, Rylind Wheeler has powered to numerous titles while Franklin Barry, Lucas Evans, and Louis de Lautour have ruled the national tennis courts.
Volleyball player Jack Kennedy’s exceptional performances have been pivotal to the Senior A team’s success and Edward Elworthy has also been a key player for the Senior A side and a dedicated junior team coach.
