Gaining gold in academic achievement

Outstanding Christ’s College students have been acknowledged at the Academic Awards Assembly, with five boys receiving the highest honour – the Gold Tie.

Awarded to those students with the highest percentage of Excellence credits in one year, the recipients are Ryan Gu, James Hadden, Jack Hastie, Aaron Kwak, and Daniel Wilson. All have also been awarded their Gold Badges and Gold Buttons.

Having already achieved their Christ’s College Diploma with Academic Honours in 2023, 11 students have received their Gold Badges and Gold Buttons, acknowledging two years of academic excellence. They are Hugo Buchan, Ihaka Cate, Edward Elworthy, William Gifford, Ason Gu, Seb Hailey, Max Hao, David Wayne, Ewan Whiteside, Gordon Wyness, and Kennedy Xiao.

Meanwhile, Angus Vincent has also received Gold Buttons for Drama after already being recognised with two Honours Ties for Drama.

Six boys – Sam Bennett, Charlie Doutch, Luke Hearne, Jeffery Jiang, Richard Noh, and Fletcher Tapper – have been awarded Gold Badges for achieving 70 Excellence credits in one year or 80 Excellence credits in more than one year.
