Circle of Christ’s College unity to combat racism
Christ’s College students have formed a circle of unity on the Quad to conquer racism and mark the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.
The circle is symbolic of Round Square, an international network of schools across 50 countries that aims to embrace the Ideals of Round Square – Internationalism, Democracy, Environment, Adventure, Leadership, and Service.
Organised by College’s Round Square Committee, the circle has drawn together boys from across the whole school to highlight that everyone is welcome at College.
Round Square Committee member Luke Kim says “everyone can do something to fight against racism and, as a College community, this is our first step this year towards delivering on our commitment to combatting racism”.
“We have also sung the College waiata, which communicates the College values of appreciating all people from all backgrounds.”
