Character and Leadership week – a punchy end to Term 2

08 Jul 2022

The last week of Term 2 climaxed with Character and Leadership Week with the whole school invited to activities at intervals and lunchtimes.

Top attraction was the Bake Sale and Sausage Sizzle, the Leadership Committee combining with the Service committee for this event. Boys and their mothers baked at home and brought the delicacies to school. Richards House biscuits were winners, and everything sold quickly. This was a fundraiser for BounceBack4Syria, which provides sport equipment for young children to help them build resilience. A pleasing amount was raised, said Oli Aikawa, Head of Character and Leadership.

Challenging leadership games involving teamwork were held on the Quad on the Monday lunchtime; Old Boys Louis Gunn and Zach Gallagher came in to talk informally about leadership and chatted about how each student could develop his own leadership style and confidence. There were many questions, which Louis and Zach answered candidly and helpfully.
