Aston, Harrison, Ben, Otto, and Jake lead the field
Five impressive Christ’s College athletes – Aston Nijjar, Harrison Laing, Ben Campbell, Otto Church, and Jake Boyd – have been recognised at Assembly for their multiple achievements on Athletics Day at Ngā Puna Wai.
All the track and field winners have been celebrated in front of the school and have received their awards from Executive Principal Garth Wynne.
Aston has been awarded the Old Boys’ Championship Cup and Prize and Rowberry Medal for the Senior Championship following victories in the long jump, triple jump, 80m hurdles, and 300m hurdles. Harrison has received the CH Hamilton Memorial Cup and Prize for Runner-up to the Senior Championship following success in the 100m, 200m, and 400m.
Ben has been awarded the EJ Cooke Memorial Cup and CCOBA Prize and Rowberry
Medal for the Intermediate Championship, with wins in the 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m, and triple jump.
In the younger age groups, Otto has received the JCN Grigg Cup and Prize and Rowberry Medal for the Junior Championship following wins in the 800m, 1500m, 3000m, and pole vault while Jake has been awarded the RC Grigg Cup and Prize and Rowberry Medal for the U14 Championship following victories in the 80m hurdles, long jump, javelin, shot put, and discus.
Flower’s House has secured the WB Fox Challenge Cup for the House Championship while Rolleston House has been awarded the Christ's College House Athletics Cup for the Non-Championship.
