Volunteers on their game

As part of their commitment to service, Year 9 students Remy Fitzgerald, Ethan Punivai and Jonathan Huo, and Year 10 students Jared Herber, Moe Gath and Henri Quested volunteered to help fundraise for the Starship Foundation at the Crusaders vs Lions match on Saturday 10 June.
As the official charity partner of the 2017 British and Irish Lions tour, the Starship Foundation features prominently at all matches and thousands of rugby fans are asked to put their hands in their pockets to support this very worthy cause.
Using the traditional “change in the bucket” approach, as well as paywave donation software provided by ASB, the boys said they had a great time getting amongst the crowd before the game and at halftime, handing out flags and foam fingers and chatting with the visitors – and, as an added bonus, they also got to watch the game.
