That Christmas feeling

03 Dec 2018

The clouds cleared, the sun shone, and the Quad filled on Thursday evening as the school and wider community gathered for the annual Carols on the Quad.

A combination of traditional and modern music presented by the Chapel Choir left no one in doubt that the Christmas season is imminent. There was strong community singing from the hundreds seated and standing for favourites like “Once in Royal David’s City”, “The First Nowell”,“O Come, All Ye Faithful”and“Hark! The Herald Angels Sing”.

The 50-minute event was interspersed with Bible readings from Board Chair Dr Ian Town, Executive Principal Garth Wynne, and staff and boys, and the choir intermittently presented some lesser known works. The event wound up with a spirited version of “Feliz Navidad” sung by the school and accompanied by the Big Band.

A retiring collection was taken for the Christian World Service Christmas Appeal.
