Swift on the slopes

13 Oct 2017

College skiers have enjoyed success on the slopes at the South Island Secondary School Ski & Snowboard Championships, which took place on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 September at the Cardrona Alpine Resort in Wanaka.

On the first day, Year 12 student Cameron Nicolson and Year 10 students Ollie Moginie, Kit Lamb and Nick Houghton skied their way to first place in the Giant Slalom teams event, with Cameron finishing third in the individual rankings. On the second day of the competition Cameron was again on form, racing ahead to win the boys’ Gravity Cross event.

Teacher Eloise Nevin says it was quite an accomplishment for such a young team and the boys are already looking forward to next season.
