Scots College Junior Sports Exchange

22 Jun 2017

Three College junior teams had their chance to shine with the visit from junior Scots College teams on Tuesday 20 June and Wednesday 21 June.

The annual exchange for the under-15 teams was set up four years ago and Director of Sport Rob Clarke says it is a great way to introduce young teams to travelling and playing other teams.

For the first time over the period of the exchange, the junior College football team had a 3-2 win against the Scots College team. College started well, scoring the opening goal in the first minute of the game. Scots then struck back making it 1 all. College went on to score two more goals, two of which came from Caleb Manson.

College lost the basketball game 104-48 playing against a good side with taller players. However, Rob Clarke says it was close at half time and Wil de Geest had a good game.

In the rugby, after starting well with two tries from Fletcher Andrews and Luke Hamilton, College finally lost 28-22. Scots went on to score two tries, but College was still up 17-14 at half time. College continued the lead 22-21, but Scot scored a long-range try to win.

After a night billeted with College families, the Scots team went on to games against St Andrew’s College.
