Run77 rocks the Town Hall

29 Jun 2017

College rock band Run77, fresh from their win at the 2017 Canterbury Rockquest regional finals on Friday 23 June, received more accolades on Thursday 29 June when they were asked to play for the Mayor, Councillors, the media and other dignitaries. The event, held inside the main auditorium of the Town Hall, was very much a work boots, high vis vest and hard hat affair and celebrated the progress being made in the painstaking renovation of one of Christchurch’s favourite iconic buildings.

The band, which played the two songs that had won them the regionals, had been asked to play so two visiting experts could monitor the acoustics in the newly built auditorium.

Much to the appreciation of the 60-strong audience, Angus Mossman, Angus Murray, George Murray, Robbie Rolleston and Henry Phelps delivered another stunning performance.
