Powering to success in the pool

16 Feb 2018

The pool was the best place to be on Monday 12 February with Hunter Wilson and James Currie powering to new school records at the annual College Swimming Sports.

Noisy, splashy, hot and humid it may have been, but the event played out like clockwork as the championships were keenly contested by all competitors.

Hunter Wilson added to his current tally of school records setting two new ones this year in the Senior Championship 200m Individual Medley and 100m Breaststroke while

James Currie set new records in the Junior Championship 50m Breaststroke and 100m Freestyle events. Somes triumphed on the day winning the Overall House Championship, sharing top place with Corfe in the Medley Relay Cup and beating both Corfe and Condell’s for the Sprint Relay Cup. The only relay record broken this year was by the Somes U14 sprint relay team.
