Lucky 7s
20 Sep 2017
A glorious day, large crowd and party atmosphere made for a memorable House Sports Festival at the Christ’s College cricket ground, Hagley Park, on Saturday 9 September – and with Touch 7s and 7-a-side Football competitions running concurrently there was plenty of sporting action to enjoy.
All Houses got into the spirit of the day, keeping the boys, their families and supporters fed and watered, and providing hubs where spectators could socialise between games.
Assistant to the Director of Sport Stephen Dods says a change in format breathed new life into the competition. “For the first time we went with Touch 7s rather than Tackle 7s. Participation rates were higher and the matches were far more even, which made for a better spectacle and a better day.”
The House Sports Festival is a good opportunity for parents, staff and students to come together, have fun and celebrate our College community.
