Kindred spirits

27 Feb 2019

Among the many guests at the CCOBA Reunion Weekend were four distinguished and dapper gentlemen – Bruce Carey (4841), Cassells Kernahan (4868), Graham Lawn (4872) and Neville Perkins (4892) – who first started College 80 years ago, in 1939.

Reunion Weekend is a chance for Old Boys to reconnect with each other, take a look around the school, reminisce and reflect on their time at College. These 80 Years On “boys” joined the 20, 30, 50, 60 and 70 Years On cohorts for lunch in the Dining Hall on Saturday, following year group photographs and a tour of the school. Another of their year group, Tony Lawrence (4873), had travelled down from Masterton, but was unfortunately unable to attend the lunch due to ill health.

What an honour to have these Old Boys join us, a reminder of the sense of fellowship and belonging the College experience brings.

Reunion Weekend started with the Old Boys’ race on Upper during Athletics Day, followed by the AGM and a cocktail party on Friday 22 February, and finished with Choral Evensong in Chapel on Sunday 24 February.
