On Wednesday 16 November, College swimming coach Kathrin Mueller worked with boys at the swimming pool for the last time. After 23 years at College Kathrin, has decided to retire from professional coaching. Every season she has planned varied programmes for the teachers who are in charge of each lane and imparted her knowledge and expertise with the boys. Her aim has always has been to lift the boys' skill levels so they are confident and proficient in the water.

Kathrin and her husband Rainer spend half the year enjoying Christchurch's summer and during our winter they live at their other home enjoying Vancouver's summer. No winter - she can't find much wrong with that. Kathrin intends keeping active – orienteering, rogaining and swimming of course. We wish her and Rainer a happy and well-deserved retirement.
