Black Caps share their skills

In a gift and a lesson rolled into one, Black Caps team members shared their cricket nous with 25 Year 9 College boys at Sydenham Park on Thursday.
It was an opportunity for 100 junior Canterbury cricket players to learn from their heroes at a training session followed by a barbecue.
“It was very exciting for our boys to be able to spend an hour being coached by Black Caps Ross Taylor, Trent Boult and Todd Astle,” said Stephen Dods, Master in Charge of Cricket.
“It was inspirational for the boys to meet the New Zealand players and see them in action and learn about their techniques first-hand.
“They trained in groups led by the three New Zealand players who gave them advice on technique and what is needed to get to the top, including the right mental attitude.”
