Jasper Moss powers to national title
Outstanding athlete Jasper Moss has beaten appalling conditions – including freezing rain and a sea of mud – to claim a title at the National Secondary School Cross-Country Championships in Hawera.
The College Year 12 middle-distance runner sprinted home to win the two-kilometre AWD event in 10min 11sec. He was the sole College representative at the national event.
Earlier this year, Jasper set New Zealand records in both the 800m and the 1500m at the National Championships in Hastings, while representing Canterbury.
