The academics of Scholarship success at Christ’s College

Christ’s College students have achieved outstanding results in the 2025 NZQA Scholarship examinations, gaining a total of 35 Scholarships.
Led by the former Head of Condell’s House, Jack Hastie, many boys have gained multiple Scholarships in an array of subjects. Jack’s four Scholarships have ranged from Chemistry to English, Geography, and Physics. Meanwhile, two leavers – Aaron Kwak and David Wayne – have achieved Scholarships in Biology, Chemistry, and History; and Chemistry, English, and Geography, respectively.
Year 13 student Ericsson Ye has also impressed, gaining Scholarships in Calculus and Physics, and an Outstanding Scholarship in Biology in Year 12.
Biology and English have topped the Scholarship list at College, with six each, while Chemistry has five scholars.
For Jack, “it was a great personal achievement, and especially nice to gain that recognition”.
“I believe that it’s important to aspire to Scholarship recognition, along with pursuing – and making the most of – all opportunities at school, both academic and co-curricular.”
