AJ Madondo leaps into record books
College athletes have delivered a slew of outstanding results at the 2022 Canterbury Secondary School Championships, with Year 12 student AJ Madondo leading the charge.
AJ has leapt to a record 13.48m in the triple jump during the recent U16 secondary school competition at Ngā Puna Wai after also setting a new 13.86m mark the previous week in the Canterbury interclub contest.
Among the standout College track and field athletes are U14 hammer champion Lui Tupuola, U15 shot put and discus champion PJ Palamo, triple U16 title winner AJ Madondo (100m, 200m, and triple jump), and U16 4x100m relay winners Henry Thin, Josh Durant, AJ Madondo, and Jack McKeown.
