Land of plenty in Marlborough

Nigel Taylor (7235) started his career as an economist in the export meat industry, working in Christchurch and London. He later moved to Marlborough as general manager of Riverlands Meat Ltd and was instrumental in designing and establishing its plant in Blenheim and the wider group of Riverlands companies.
In 2000 he became CEO of Rapaura Vintners Ltd, the first contract winemaker and bottler in New Zealand .
Now retired, Nigel lives on a small rural block outside Blenheim, fattening cattle and helping wife Jilly with their homestay business.
Nigel is Secretary of the Marlborough Branch of the CCOBA and also a Trustee of the Millennium Art Gallery, Marlborough’s public art gallery.
Of their blended family, their three sons are all Old Boys, as was Nigel’s late father, ETH Taylor.
