Top-flight win for Oli Reardon-Pollett
25 Mar 2025
College pilot Oli Reardon-Pollett, 15, has won the Wigram Challenge Cup at the National Flying Championships in Hastings.
The Year 11 Richards House student has claimed the title as a member of the four-person Tauranga Aero Club team taking part in the junior landing competition. He has also finished 3rd in the John Brunskill Memorial Trophy event for streamer cutting, cutting his paper-roll streamer four times in 55 seconds in an aeronautical manoeuvre. Oli has piloted the plane with a judge seated alongside during the nationals.
He has been flying for three years, having taken his first trial flight at age 12. Oli plans to become a pilot post-College, and hopes to join the Air Force.
