Old Boys net three in a row
College Old Boys have held off a determined Senior A Basketball side to win the annual clash, 77–74, in the school gymnasium on Saturday night.
Courtside was packed with family, friends, and supporters ready for some exciting plays and the chance to see formidable former – and current – school talent. It was also a fitting opportunity to watch the Year 13s from the Senior A squad in action on their home court.
Captain Will Lovell led the Old Boys to victory – their third success in a row, with Henry Patterson and Fletcher Miller proving to be outstanding performers.
Both Henry and Hamish Patterson featured in the Old Boys team while Tom Davidson appeared for the Old Boys and brother Ed for the Senior A side.
Senior A had two three-point shots to tie the game at the end but could not seal the victory.
It was a chance to acknowledge the Year 13 players and hand out leavers’ singlets to Jordan Braithwaite, Hunter Adam, Tom Harrison, Bruno Vaughan, Liam Jack, Rob McClean, Santino Felitti-Duter, Matthew Lewis, and Jacob Clements. They will join the Old Boys team next year, boosting a powerful side.
Meanwhile, Hunter was acknowledged for playing 50 games for Senior A and Tom Harrison was recognised for a remarkable 100 games.
