Marking the start of Lent

Uniting in prayer and song, the Christ’s College school community has gathered to mark the first day of Lent – Ash Wednesday.
Led by the Bishop of Christchurch, The Right Reverend Dr Peter Carrell, the service “marks a significant beginning of a special season” in preparation for Easter.
He has reminded the boys to “walk closer with Jesus”, and “turn from sin and be faithful to the Gospel” as they prepare for the 40 days of Lent.
The service has concluded with boys and staff receiving the traditional cross of ash on their foreheads, emphasising a season of prayer and reflection.
