Combined Concert strikes a chord with College audience
An extraordinary evening showcasing the musical talents of Christ’s College and St Margaret’s College has drawn an appreciative audience to the Assembly Hall.
Overseen by Director of Music Robert Aburn, College’s Chapel Choir and Schola Cantorum have presented their upcoming Big Sing programmes, featuring a diverse range of genres.
Highlighting the remarkable talents of the College students, a new Chamber Music group, the Popper Quartet, has shared a beautiful piece, Requiem for Three Cellos and Piano, by David Popper. The quartet unites the talents of Jago Wallace, Joshua Padayachee, Richard Brown, and music teacher Hugo Zanker.
Student James Burt’s Three Styles for Saxophone Quartet – featuring James, Riley Millar, Finlay Sharpe, and Korosh Langley – has also been applauded.
Among the highlights, the Combined Christ’s College and St Margaret’s College Orchestra has delighted the audience with an eclectic mix of pieces.
