College times ski title run to perfection
Christ’s College has raced away with the overall team title at the Canterbury Secondary Schools Ski and Snowboard Championships at Mount Hutt.
Making the most of the fine conditions and soft powder, Tomas Coberger, JJ Wada, and Seb Gray have ensured the title win with a total time of 2:17.67 for their runs – 8.81 seconds ahead of their nearest rival.
Tomas has also won the individual overall title, finishing 1st equal and recording 21.77 for one of his runs, while JJ has secured 4th spot overall and 3rd in the boys’ competition.
Seb Gray and Josh Brown have claimed 5th and 6th, respectively, in the boys’ contest while Tim Tolerton (8th) and Luc Botherway (9th) have also powered into the top 10.
In the snowboard event, Year 12 student Edward Bodie-Healy has taken 6th spot (13.39) in the boys’ section and 7th overall.
