College sailors in flying form for premier regatta

Christ’s College sailor Will Leech and his crew have topped their 29er division – and finished 2nd overall – at New Zealand’s premier youth and Olympic classes event, the Oceanbridge Sail regatta.
Fellow College students Saxon Foggo and Sam Nicholl have also impressed in the 420 class, despite missing the first day of racing.
Hosted by the Torbay Sailing Club in Auckland over three days, the regatta attracts the country’s most competitive sailors, along with international entrants.
Will and William Mason only missed a top-three finish once in their 12 races. They have been named the top youth team and have finished only one point behind the overall winner, with the 3rd-placed team a further 20 points back.
