College harriers set hot pace at nationals

22 Jun 2022

Otto Church and Jasper Moss have produced superb runs at the New Zealand Secondary Schools Cross-Country Championships and the Regional Cross-Country Team Relay Championships at the Saxton Field Sports Complex in Nelson.

In good conditions but on a slushy surface, the seven College harriers have delivered strong runs over both days.

Otto’s performances of note include a 6th place in the individual Year 9 event, only 20 seconds behind the winner, and finishing the best of the South Island harriers. He has also anchored his Year 9 relay team with the fastest lap, securing the team’s 3rd place in the regional event on Sunday.

Jasper has dug deep to defend his senior title in a hotly contested race. An impressive team captain, Jasper finishes his outstanding school career with three national titles in total.

Both Master-in-Charge Graeme Christey and manager Jai Moss have provided strong support for the boys throughout the season.
