College delivers winning beat at Southern Jam

College has claimed an overall Gold Award at the Southern Jam Youth Jazz Festival in Blenheim, with both the Big Band and Jazz Combo in the spotlight.
Rory Doull won the Most Outstanding Guitarist Award and was also selected for the All Stars Band, along with William Sudell (trombone).
Southern Jam offers young musicians an opportunity to learn from professional performers and appear at a range of venues around Marlborough. A celebration of all things jazz, the festival features big bands, ensembles and combos, along with a competition, and a gala concert showcasing participating schools and the All Stars Band.
