Christ’s College has won the Year 10 division of the Da Vinci Decathlon, finishing well ahead of its nearest rival.

Nitin Keswani, Ollie Gordon, George Greig, Guy Boissard, Joshua Padayachee, Sean Ma, Tim Zhao, and Hwijun Kwon have joined forces to impressively complete challenges in mathematics, cartography, English, science, code breaking, art and poetry, ideation, engineering, creative producers, and legacy. They have tackled 10 disciplines in an action-packed day of collaboration and competition.

Hosted by College, the academic da Vinci Decathlon brings together individual skills to work as a team while challenging talented problem solvers and quick thinkers. Launched in Sydney, it attracts thousands of students in Australia, the United Kingdom, and New Zealand who appreciate the power of the collective mind. It is an opportunity for students to enhance their critical-thinking skills, and approach tasks analytically and laterally.

The Year 9 College team – featuring Taha Cam, Regan Chiang, Ayrton Ferguson, Jack Boissard, Olin Spence, Vivaan Puri, Edmond Zhang, and Richie Tu – has also achieved highly in the mathematics section.

Meanwhile, the Year 11 team – Sebastian Wynn Thomas, Gus Elworthy, Tom Kerr, Lucas Zhong, Felix Liu, Lucas Zhang, Alex Johnstone, and William Coughlan – has narrowly missed out on a top-three spot following impressive efforts in the creative producers section, engineering, and science.
