Christ’s College on target for team win
Christ’s College has won the five-person points score team event at the South Intercollegiate competition at the Timaru Clay Target Club.
Hugo Helmore, Kieran Christey, Harrison Johnstone, Oliver Skene, and Harry Wilson have steered College to the top spot in the open contest, with Harrison recording a personal best (PB) to win the skeet section, followed by Hugo and Will Pearson, and Hugo taking the top spot in the single barrel.
In the individual points score, Kieran has claimed 2nd place, with Hugo in 3rd spot. Overall, Hugo, Kieran, and Angus Maxwell have all scored more than 80 (out of 90) for the day, while Alexander Bedggood and Charlie Luisetti have recorded personal bests in the daily total. Further PBs have been recorded by Harrison, Will, Harry, Jack Richardson, and Oliver (skeet), along with Angus (single rise), and Cohen Wildermoth and Jack (single barrel).
Nearly 80 competitors have lined up at the event in cold conditions, including 18 College clay target shooters.
