A trio of remarkable Christ’s College cyclists has taken home a big medal haul from the New Zealand Track Cycling Championships in Invercargill.

Riley Crampton has claimed the overall U19 title following impressive rides in the premier age-group events. He has won the U19 points race, finished 2nd in the U19 individual pursuit, and 3rd in the U19/elite team pursuit.

Fellow College standout Harrison Tapper has secured six silver medals and two bronze, winning silver in the individual pursuit, team pursuit, scratch race, points race, elimination, and team sprint, and bronze in the time trial and sprints.

Meanwhile, Year 9 student Hudson Carter has geared up to win three medals in the U15 grade, securing silver in the elimination race and team sprint, along with a bronze in the 7500m points event.

Earlier in the year, Riley ruled the track in the U19 Omnium – and proved too strong for his Australian rivals – at the Oceania Track Cycling Championships in Cambridge. He also won events at the Omnium and Madison National Championships in Cambridge, and the Austral Wheel Race in Melbourne while racing in the national colours.

In the one-day U17 National Criterium, College riders also came home in the top four, with Harrison 2nd and Wilbur Talbot 4th.
