Christ’s College athletes set title pace at SI championships

Year 11 student Jake Boyd has been in outstanding form at the South Island Secondary Schools Track and Field Championships in Nelson, dominating the U15 grade in hurdles, discus, javelin, and shot put.
Five other College athletes have also won titles, with Otto Church setting a South Island record to claim the U16 pole vault honours and Alex Aitken winning the U19 triple jump event. In the U14 section, Malachi Rattray has recorded personal bests to win the 80m hurdles and the hammer. Fynn Mayers has also set a PB in winning the U19 hammer event while Sam Moore has won the U15 3000m.
Max Hurring, Luke Mostert, Dylan Jackson, Liam Dodds, Taio Ferreira, and Max Hindmarsh have all lined up on the podium in individual events.
