All the elements of science success

Big Science – big success. Three Christ’s College students have achieved High Distinction in the international Big Science Competition, placing Kiran Keswani, Noah Zhang, and Taha Cam in the top 5% of the 40,000-plus entrants.
Two students, Euan Kay (Year 9) and Regan Chiang (Year 10), are among the top 10%, earning Distinction in a challenging competition that pushes participants’ science knowledge, critical-thinking, and problem-solving ability to the limit.
For Taha, a Year 10 student, and Year 9 pair Kiran and Noah, Big Science requires a different set of skills, with more emphasis on analytical thinking and reasoning, rather than relying on memory.
Science teacher Amy Fisher hopes the competition will inspire more boys to tackle tougher challenges, including Biology and Chemistry Olympiads, while also extending their STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) skills.
