Multiple titles, a championship record, and overall top school honours – Christ’s College athletes have led the way at the South Island Secondary Schools Track and Field Championships at Ngā Puna Wai.

During an outstanding two days of competition, Malachi Rattray’s gold medal in the U16 hammer event stands out, with a championship record throw of 49.61m.

Meanwhile, Max Hurring has claimed an impressive sprint double, winning both the U17 100m and 200m, while College’s strength in hurdles events is evident, with victories to Hugh Davis (U17 100m) and Dylan Jackson (U20 110m).

College athletes have also been centre stage in field events, with gold medals to Sam Moore in the U17 pole vault and Otto Church in the U20 pole vault, alongside Archer Allen’s U20 triple jump win. An impressive College U17 relay team – featuring Sam Scott, Sam Moore, Hugh Davis, and Max Hurring – has claimed gold in the 4x100m.
