The heat is on

As part of its drive to reduce its carbon footprint, College has made the switch to using the B20 Biotherm biofuel blend to power its heating system.
Supplied and manufactured by Southern Biofuels, the biofuel blend – specifically designed for boilers, furnaces and central heating units – is made by blending recycled, refined cooking oil with mineral fuel. College has been trialling the blend over the past year and Maintenance Manager Mike Tovey says he is pleased to have made the switch.
“We’ve run a long trial period and been very happy so far. There’s been no negative impact on College plant, it’s substantially more cost effective, manufactured in Christchurch, and fits well with our intention to be more energy efficient and environmentally conscious.”
Environmentally friendly and with reduced cost … Call that a win.
