Joe Moody (12994)
Even before getting close to its halfway point, the 2020 season has already become one to remember.
Before the country went into lockdown, Joe Moody was preparing to play a key role in the Crusaders’ Super Rugby title defence. But in the weeks since professional sports were put on hold, he’s been making the most of the opportunity from home.
With a gym set up in his garage and a nearby park for fitness and conditioning training, the time he was able to indulge his love for sport at College is proving to pay dividends in his professional career.
“At Christ’s College, you get to try your hand at just about anything,” he says. But it wasn’t always so straightforward.
“I was out of school for a few years before I started making headway. But it taught me one of the great life lessons. You have to be patient and keep working for some things. They don’t just fall into your lap. You have to work hard.”
