MANifesto is a specialised Year 13 wellbeing program designed to focus on the challenges and opportunities afforded to student’s in their final year at Christ’s College.
The session content is based around the key principles of mindfulness practice, application of character strengths and developing a deeper understanding of growth mindset, regulating internal state (thoughts and feelings) to support students to flourish. In addition the program has embedded content specifically identified by Year 13 students as relevant including sexual diversity, building healthy relationships, consent, budgeting, alcohol and drugs.
2021 is the first year that we have had the opportunity to explicitly teach wellbeing to the Year 13 students. These sessions are facilitated within what has traditionally been a study period, occurring every Wednesday.
The intention of the wellbeing sessions is to increase student’s awareness of his internal state (thoughts and feelings), teach effective emotional regulation and coping skills to support him to manage the demands of the year, and build competencies to support effective coping as students transition out of school in 2022.
